Beauty Buys: Sunless Tanners

Beauty· Uncategorized

26 Aug

Summer is coming to a close and fall is fast approaching.  I, like everyone else out there, love to have that sun-kissed glow year-round.  I have found some great products that can help me achieve this all the time at home.

First of all though, if I have an extra special event or trip I trust the professionals.  Zoe Politis at Vanity Glo has been my go-to for years.  She is great about appointment times- she works really hard to fit into your busy schedule.  You won’t look orange and you will have the exact “glow” that you want from light to medium to dark.  I always say “just a glow, not like I have been in the islands for two weeks”.  She takes her time and it comes out perfect every single time!  As long as you do not shower for 7-8 hours and moisturize your skin daily (after your first shower), it will last for 5-7 days.  Their prices are also amazing- $45 for one session or a 3- session package for $120.  In Charlotte, the booth sunless tanners cost $25-$30, so this is a great deal.

If I just want a little color in between visits or last minute, I have found some products that work great with very little user error. 😉 First of all is St. Tropez.  My favorite products from them are the Express foam and the in Shower Gel.  Both are perfect for me because there are those days that I can’t wait 6-8 hours to shower.

Express Foam

Tan Applicator Mitt

For the express foam, you apply it to your body with the mitt in a circular motion.  Then you wait- 1 hour for light, 2 hours for medium and 3 hours for dark- then you can shower.

Shower Gel

For the gradual shower gel, you take a shower as usual and then when you’ve washed your body, you turn off the water (do not dry off) and apply the gel in a circular motion all over your body. Remove tanner from palms of your hands using a washcloth. Wait 3 minutes and rinse off.  Done. Dry off as normal and color will develop over time but you won’t have that dreaded self-tanner smell.

Bronzing Mousse

Vita Liberata Foam

If you have more time the regular St. Tropez works well and so does Vita Liberata.  Like the express St. Tropez, you use a mitt in a circular motion over each part of your body.  Don’t shower for around 6-8 hours.

Moisturizer (for body)

Clarins Golden Glow Booster Oil

For my face, I use Clarins Glow-Booster oil like my friend recommended.  Just 2-3 drops mixed with my moisturizer for a couple of days in row and my face has a nice glow also.  And that way it doesn’t dry out my skin like some other face sunless tanners can do.

Try these products and let me know if you love them as much as I do!

St Tropez is a great product, I agree!
